PIERRE EL KHOURY

Objective
Enthusiastic Electrical and Computer engineer with past experience in web and applications development and design. Looking forward to expand my knowledge in utilizing engineering tools and developing my technical skills in the engineering field.

Education
American Unive rsity of Beirut -Bachelor in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Class of 2010) -Masters in Engineering Management (Start Date: September 2010) Lebanese Baccalaureate: General Sciences (July 2006) College Maristes Champville (1991 - 2006)

Experience
Acteos SA Approved Junior Developer (February 2011 till Present) Acteos is a French Independent Software Vendor with over 25 years of experience in the Supply Chain Management industry. They develop software and hardware products to assist customers through managing their stock availability and mobility. I am working as part of the production team over LOGIDRIVE, which is a Warehouse Management System, one of three main products by Acteos, and the most prominent one (about 80% of the companys finance is based on it). We incorporate different clients requirements into our environment, and perform meticulous testing so that we ensure customer satisfaction. The current version of LOGIDRIVE is written in Oracle PL/SQL, using Oracle Forms and Reports. The future release will be based on Java. I will be participating in the migration process through reverse engineering while incorporating new features.

AUB - CNS (Computing and Networking Services) WCMS (Web Content Manage ment System) for the American Unive rsity of Beiruts Website (October 2008 - June 2009) - (October 2009 January 2011) The project required migrating websites from old server to a new SharePoint server 2007. The migration process was done by configuring and using MetaLogix. Purpose of the project: to manage all AUB departmental websites under a common format, and to provide more administrative control to Webmasters of the AUB website. The project required unifying AUBs website under a common template. The project included redesigning several departments WebPages, due to compatibility issue with the general template (HTML and CSS). I wrote a manual on how to use Metalogix to facilitate the task for the new employees and to ensure the consistency and quality of the migration process. I trained new employees on Metalogix and SharePoint. I trained the departments on how to use SharePoint to manipulate their websites.

Consolidated Contractors Co. LLC Oman Information System Department (July - August 2009) Hands on experience with local networks, how different projects at different locations are connected to each others, how they are connected to the global companys network and how they are connected to the Internet. Involved building a complete network from zero. The network at the camp and the offices is designed and applied on site. This internship required me moving between five different projects, comprehend the network topology and understand the requirements of each project. I was involved in technical work related to network ing, and software programming for internal use by projects (Indexed Servers Search and others, mainly using C# and ASPX).

Effect of using Transshipment as a vertical area division in Delivery Systems (January 2011) click here fo r PDF click here for Simu lations click here for PowerPo int presentation This is a very interesting study conducted as part of the graduate course Network Flows Algorithms and Optimization (ENMG616). Using a simplified Manhattan Road mesh as a network environment and a limited number of resources (agents), we needed to determine the effect of dividing the network vertically (as a transhipment fence) on the performance (considered to be total delivery time). Through the collected data, we deduced that this type of division was not beneficial to the system. The System was modelled using C++, and the graphics were modelled using OpenGL.
