Project Undertaken:Image Segmentation using Edge Detection followed by Statistical Region Merging Method Any image (preferably JPEG/PNG) taken from user is segmented using edge detection method by Sobel Operator to get the segments as output. Later Statistical Region Merging is used to overcome the limitation of using color image in previous algorithm. Here SRM algorithm is used. To use image segments in satellite image detection, face and fingerprint recognition, medical imaging and in numerous industry applications.
