A web browser is a software application that allows users to access and view documents and other resources on the World Wide Web. The three most popular web browsers are Internet Explorer, which was originally released by Microsoft in 1995 and was the most widely used browser until the late 2000s; Mozilla Firefox, an open source browser that is now the second most used; and Opera, a browser developed by Opera Software that handles common internet tasks beyond just displaying websites.

A web browser can also be defined as an application software or program designed to enable users to access, retrieve and view documents and other resources on the Internet. A web browser is a software application for retrieving, presenting, and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web. TYPES OF WEB BROWSER


INTERNET EXPLORER:
Microsoft originaly released internet explorer in august 1995. And after that there is no stopping for it, it is the highly sold, downloaded, used web browser till date. Internet Explorer has been the most widely used web browser since 1999, attaining a peak of about 95%.

MOZILLA FIREFOX :
Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite and managed by Mozilla Corporation. As of March 2011[update], Firefox is the second most widely used browser, with approximately 30% of worldwide usage share of web browser.

OPERA BROWSER
Opera is a web browser and Internet suite developed by Opera Software. The browser handles common Internetrelated tasks such as displaying web sites, sending and receiving e-mail messages, managing contacts, chatting on IRC, downloading files via BitTorrent, and reading web feeds .
