A study was conducted using a questionnaire to determine if the amount a person is willing to pay is dependent on their gender. The results showed the number of males and females willing to pay within certain price ranges. A chi-square test was performed and calculated χ2 obs = 3.2603 and χ2 0.05,3 = 7.82. Since χ2 obs is less than χ2 0.05,3 , the null hypothesis that amount willing to pay and gender are independent is accepted. It was concluded that the amount a person is willing to pay is independent of their gender.
