The overall objective of the AMO-Anaesthetic School is to provide the academic and clinical experience which will enable the graduate to proved safe anaesthesia to the wide variety of clinical situation which may arise in the current practice of anaesthesia. AMO School is undr the MOH training department, and the training is taking place at KCMC under the organogram of KCMC. Offers: The center offers two year Diploma course in clinical medicine. On completion of the course and after passing the prescribed qualifying examinations the successful candidates are awarded a Diploma in clinical medicine by the Tanganyika medical training board. Also there are secretarial services for personal/private work including photocopy. Aims and objectives: To train students so that they can acquire basic skills in handling of common health problems in their working areas after qualifying. Offers: The course offered by the school leads a trainee to become clinical officers. The school offers subjects which lead the candidate to graduate as clinical officers. Aims and objectives: To train clinical officers in the following clinical competences: recognition of all common medical and surgical conditions occurring in Tanzania including the common communicable diseases: understanding the pathological principles involved in sufficient detail to explain common clinical manifestations and to order relevant laboratory investigation; performance of differential diagnosis on major presenting symptoms and signs; treatment of all common medical, conditions and minor surgical conditions.
