I’m passing sleeping cities, fading by degrees,
Not believing all I see to be so
E
I’m fly’in over backyards, country homes and ranches
Watching life between the branches below

And it’s hard to say, who you are these days, but you run on anyway
E
Don’t you baby?
G D E E
You keep running for another place To find that saving grace
E
I’m moving on alone, over ground that no one owns
Past statues that atone for my sins
There’s a guard on every door and a drink on every floor
Overflowing with a thousand amens
A
And it’s hard to say, who you are these days, but you run on anyway
E
Don’t you baby?

No headroom for expansion no more.

You’re confident but not really sure.

But the smile that I said I've returned I'm with you

When day has left the night behind

Wild Wood Weed
The wildwood flower grew wild on the farm, and we never knowed what it
was called.
Some said it was a flower and some said it was a weed, I never gave it much
thought.
One day I was out there talking to my brother, reached down for a weed to
chew on,
Things got fuzzy and things got blurry, and then everything was gone!
Didn't know what happened, but I knew it beat the hell out of sniffin' burlap.
I come to and my brother was there, and he said, What's wrong with your
eyes?
I said, I don't know, I was chewing on that weed. He said let me give it a try.
We spent the rest of that day and most of that night trying to find my brother,
Bill.
Caught up with him, 'bout six o'clock the next morning, naked, swinging on
the wind mill!
He said he flew up there. I had to fly up there and bring him down, he was
about half crazy.
The very next day we picked a bunch of them weeds, and put 'em in the sun to
dry.
Then we mashed 'em up and chopped 'em up and put 'em in the corncob pipe.
Smokin' that wildwood flower got to be a habit. We didn't see no harm
We thought it was kind of handy to take a trip and never leave the farm.
Well all good things gotta come to an end and it's the same with the wildwood
weed.
One day this feller from Washington came by and as he spied it he turned
white as a sheet.
Then they dug and they burned and they burned and they dug and they killed
all our cute little weeds.
Then they drove away. We just smiled and waved - sittin' there on that sack of
seeds!

Wicked Game
Chris Isaak, from _Heart-Shaped_World_
Notes:
This song sounds great on a Strat. I figured out 99%
of this song myself and confirmed my interpretation when I
saw Chris Isaak on 'Saturday Night Live'.
There are really two guitars in this tune. Isaak is
strumming the rhythm on his acoustic while his lead guitarist
does the melody work. Isaak plays the Bm A E progression
through most of the song.
In my notation, a row of tildes (~) means 'wiggle the
tremelo bar'. '\' means slide down and '/' means slide up.
The nice tremelo work along with a lot of reverb give this
song most of its atmosphere.
The intro riff is hard to notate. Basically, the sequence
on the B string is: pick open string (B), bend tremelo down 1/2 step,
hammer-on 7th fret (F#), release tremelo, pick 7th fret (F#), slide
down to open string.

lyrics:
We were on fire
No one could save me but you.
Strange what desire make foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you
Flute and guitar instrumental, full verse Electric 23, VB 27, Key D
Every day was like another, put one foot in front of the other
Don’t look up, just stay in line. Don’t rock the boat, keep markin’ time.
Takin’ it nice and easy was my plan, pretending I was such a happy man.
As those I cared for breathed their last, I realized the time had past.
That you would turn my world around, sweep my feet right from the ground.
You broke through and led me by the hand and showed me how to be a happy
man.
The scent of flowers fill the air, music flows without a care,
Butterflies have much more meaning, words of love are worth repeating.
You broke through and led me by the hand and showed me how to be a happy man.
(Slow) You showed me, how to be, a happy man, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.
Thank You
