Water Proofing Methodology
Surface Preparation
1. Concrete surfaces to be applied with waterproofing shall be structurally sound, clean and free of dirt, loose mortar particles, paints, films, oil, protective coats, efflorescence and laitance. 2. All defects should be properly corrected. All openings and joints should be se aled. 3. For area with cracks, form a V cut along the cracks. Clean and seal it using polyurethane sealant then allow it to dry.
Application
1. Apply primer to the whole area to be waterproofed. The primer is Greenseal Polydek mixed with 30% water by volume. 2. Apply first coat of Greenseal Polydek using stiff brush to give a continuous film then allow it to dry. 3. Apply the 2nd/ final coat of Greenseal Polydek at the right angle to the direction of the first coat then allow it to dry for at least 24 hours. 4. Flood test all waterproofed areas by placing water in it and do not drain the water for at least 24 hours. 5. Apply remedy at once to all evident leakages. 6. Flood test again until there is no more sign of leakage. 7. Turn over the project.
