Cloud computing

What is a cloud computing?

Cloud computing is Internet- ("cloud-") based development and use of computer technology ("computing").
Cloud Computing...

What is a use of cloud computing?

Cloud Computing...

a technology used to access services offered on the Internet cloud

Characteristics
Shared infrastructure Dynamic provisioning Network access Managed metering

Service Models
Software as a Service(Saas) Platform as a Service(PaaS) Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS)

Public, Private and Hybrid clouds

Cloud Computing...

Types of clouds
Private cloud Public cloud Community cloud Hybrid cloud

Benefits
Cost savings Scalability/Flexibility Reliability Maintenance Mobile Accessible

Challenges
Security and privacy Lack of standard Continuously Evolving

Challenge
Cloud computing will only be possible if there is a
strong internet connection. Cloud computing might not work in areas where internet connection is weak. Although there are applications that might be work with simple dial-up connectivity, the application could easily go down especially when there is too many data to be processed.
