Semi-detailed Lesson Plan

In

Physical Education

I. Objectives:
1. Familiarize in playing baseball and their equipments.
2. Achieve the basic forms of batting, throwing and catching.
3. Appreciate baseball games.

II. Subject Matter:


o Baseball
o MAPEH III (team sports)
o Materials
 Baseball equipments (bat, ball, gloves, uniform, cap)
 Flash cards
 Deck of cards
 Masking tape

III. Procedures:
A. Preliminary activities
 Recap a brief history of baseball field.
 Show and tell the equipments of baseball.
 Card activity – to practice the student’s teamwork in the class.
B. Developmental activities:
o Motivation
 Jumbled letters
 Baseball –use of batting, throwing and catching the ball.
 Basketball – use of shooting and dribbling the ball.
 Football – use of kicking and heading the ball.
 Handball – use of passing and throwing the ball.
 Softball – use of batting, throwing and catching a larger ball.
 Volleyball – use of spiking, tossing and servicing the ball.
 Stretching and warm up exercise
C. Lesson proper:
a. Discussion
 Batting form – stand up straight, legs two feet away from each other,
weight at the center, both hands holding the bat, elbows bent shoulder
level.
 Catching form – legs are spread and knees slightly bent, assuming Right
handed; left arm forward elbow slightly bent chest level and the hand
forming a letter “C”. Right hand behind or under the left hand for support
and throwing purpose.
 Throwing form – once the ball has been catch, the supporting hand will
immediately enter the glove and put nearly the chest. Then left foot
forward together with the arms spread while the left arm pointing the
target and the right arm continuously on motion to throw the ball.
b. Application
o The teacher will raise a questions regarding to the discussion. .
 Do you consider baseball fun and easy game to play?
 Do you think baseball will be famous in our country, like what football
achieve?
 What did you feel while doing the basic forms of batting, throwing and
catching?
IV. Evaluation:
o The class is divided into two groups then each group should be able to portray
the position their assigned by their leader.

V. Assignment:
1. Perform catching and throwing a tennis ball at home or any place where you
cannot disturb other people.
2. Practice batting form and swaying, if you don’t have baseball bat try using stick
just to develop your form in batting.
