Technology helped with all aspects of the project including research, construction, and planning. It allowed for online research of music videos, posters, and album covers to understand conventions. Using technology in construction, research planning and

evaluation.
Using technology was very important for this project and helping me with construction, research, and
planning.

Technology helped me with research because it allowed me to use the internet to look at music
videos and take into account the conventions they used such as mise en scene, camera shots and
angles. It also helped me research into looking at posters and CD covers, and this I needed help with
a lot as I didn’t have many ideas, but using google it helped me look at albums and posters of big
songs and big artist. Technology also helped me with my research because It allowed me to find a
wide variety of facts and opinions on conventions of music videos, posters and CD album cover. By
using Youtube I was able to look at similar music videos and challenge the conventions they used.
It helped me with my construction because I had to use a lot of technical software on apple
Macs and on normal computers. Some of the programmes I used were Photoshop, I needed
this to create my poster and CD cover, if it wasn’t for Photoshop I would have struggled to
make a poster or CD cover as this programme allows me to use many tools to make a product
look realistic. Photoshop helped me with all my ancillary tasks as it allowed me to do
everything I needed it to do to make it looking professional. Also I had developed my
Photoshop skills more from my AS production and that was when 1 st time I had used this
software.
Also the software that helped me and my partner was that we used Imovie to edit our music
video together, this software allowed us to cut and edit things into the right places as well as
applying music to it so we could create a piece that we were both happy with. Also using
imovie allowed my partner to make small tweaks to our piece to make everything perfect and
in sync to the music. This was very helpful because this software was very useful and it
allowed us to do a lot, and it also allowed us to add in certain effects such as black and white
and fades.
Technology helped me with my planning
because I used basic computer programmes
such as word and PowerPoint to jot down
ideas of what I wanted to do for my music
video, poster and CD covers. They also
allowed me to compare products with
other products so I can see the different
conventions in real life album cover, with
this I could then plan how I wanted to
challenge the conventions they had used.
Also it allowed me to use the internet and
make a blog which I plan what I was going
to do such as shooting plan, also it allowed
me to have examples of album covers of
what I wanted my CD cover to look like.
Also Photoshop was one of main
programmes I used because it allowed me
to compare and make my own cover so I
can see the different conventions used and
also to challenge conventions.
