Toast Speech

This document summarizes the life of Stan from the perspective of his grandson. It describes Stan as a kind, adventurous man who always put others before himself and loved spending time outdoors. It shares two anecdotes from the author's childhood about Stan - one where the grandson found Stan's arguments with his grandmother funny, and the other where the grandson pretended to be a waiter on rollerblades and fell down the basement stairs, upsetting Stan but remaining uninjured. The summary expresses sadness at having to say goodbye to Stan but takes comfort that he is in a better place now.

Hello fellow friends and family of Stan, Im here to share a few words about Stan and
share a few of my very own personal stories.‘
Stan was a great man who always put himself before others. He was the kind of person
that you know you could always count on to be there for you.‘He was a very adventurist
person; who loved taking long nature walks for hours at a time. He always had a smile
on his face and always tried to live each day as if it was his last. I feel honored to be able
to call Stan my grandfather.‘
I would love going to my grandparents house, because my grandpa and grandma would
always get into little arguments, but being so young I thought it was the funniest thing in
the world, don͛t ask me why. My grandma would always threaten him by showing a
wooden spoon. Once you saw that spoon you know you were in trouble, everyone was
afraid of my grandma͛s wooden spoon. ‘
I remember a time when I was a little boy about 7 or 8 years old, my grandpa was
babysitting me, and I was pretending to be a waiter on roller blades. He was in the
basement watching TV, so in order to bring him his food I had to go down stairs in my
roller blades, which was not a smart idea. The next thing you hear is a huge bang! My
grandfather thought it was thunder at first, and then he realized that it was me. I started
screaming for his help and He came running over in a split second, asking me if I was
okay and what happened. All I said to him was your food is ready. I surprisingly didn͛t
drop any of his food. He said with the biggest smile on his face thank god your okay,
because I͛m starving. The smile on his face after I told him I was okay is something I will
never forget. Stan was the only grandfather that I knew, it is very sad to say goodbye,
but he is in a better place now.
