Question Six

I used a variety of technologies including a digital SLR camera, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, and websites like Google, Blogspot, and Scribd to create a music magazine. While I had some experience with the camera, Photoshop, and PowerPoint, creating the magazine presented new challenges in editing photos, laying out pages, and using websites like Blogspot. Through this process, I learned how important technology is and gained new skills, but using different technologies effectively for a project took time to learn how to use each program or website.

What have you learnt about technologies from

the process of constructing this product?
I used a wide variety of different technologies to help me with
my project.
For example:
Digital Camera
Adobe Photoshop
Microsoft Office PowerPoint
Internet Explorer, which enabled me to access:
Goggle, Blogspot, dafont.com, Scribd and magazine websites.
I used a digital slr camera to take the pictures used in my
magazine. I have used a digital camera before so had
some experience and knowledge. Using this camera with
the knowledge helped produce some quality pictures.
Using the camera I took different shots angles making
more variety to choose from.
I thought about the models body language and body
position therefore what angles and shots to take pre hand
so I knew exactly what I was doing with the camera.
I took all my pictures using a backdrop and lighting which
I had basic knowledge on.

I also had knowledge in using Photoshop so I was comfortable

using this programme. Photoshop has many different tools and
effects available but I still found it quite difficult as I have never
made a magazine before. I found it easier to edit my photos but
slightly struggled to put all the images and texts together on the
page.
The edits made in Photoshop made the quality of the magazine
better and more appealing overall, which resulted in producing
a better music magazine.
I have never used Blogspot before therefore It was all very
new and I had to stick to the basics when using it and learn
as I went along.
Blogspot helped me personally record and present my whole
project. I was able to present my final pieces and show the
development and process along the way.

I used the Google to find information

and research on different magazines
or any other information I needed to
know throughout the project.
On PowerPoint I could record and present any
information needed for my project.

For every presentation I used on

PowerPoint I uploaded it onto Scribd
which I could then put onto my personal
blogger.
Its quick and easy to use so it was very
helpful throughout my project.
I have learnt how vital technology is throughout my project.
I have learnt new skills along the way of developing my project.
Technology can improve qualities and how you present things,
which makes it more personal and creative.
Technology can make things easier but knowing how to use the
technology can be a difficult experience as there is so much to
learn.
