Cover letter for an internship.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a second year master student of Urban Environmental Management of Wageningen

University in The Netherlands. I am architect by profession. My majors include sustainable
building and energy efficient building. Within our studies we are encouraged to seek internships
in environment related companies to complete our master’s degree.

Since I started my architecture study, I am highly motivated to design buildings inspired from
nature. I use passive architecture to minimize energy and water in the building. After I joined
master’s course, I came across different sustainable principles like trias energitica, C2C, waste is
food etc. One of the courses on sustainable building inspired me to look for the possibilities to
reuse the materials form the demolished building or some other waste materials. I also had
academic exercise to build a garage form the waste material coming out after repairing
bathroom. I had added knowledge now in designing buildings and utilising waste materials as
building materials. Integration of both leads to environment friendly building. Environment
protection is now the global issue and interest.

I went through the internship direction provided online. I am stongly motivated to work on reuse
of materials from demolished buildings. I consider your organisation as one of the key
organisation to promote ecology and sustainability in building design and construction. I am
looking forward to assist you for the sustainable future.

Please find my CV enclosed. If you think I can contribute with my interest and knowledge for
your organisation, I would like to hear positive response from you.

Sincerely,

Sampurna Maharjan
