Bittorrent Download Guide: Find and Download A Torrent File
1. Open Internet Explorer and go to the “The Pirate Bay” website. Type in the name of the item you are looking for and
select the type of file. (Ensure only one file type is selected.) Click the “Pirate Search” button. (The movie “Shooter” has
been used as an example.)

2. When the results of your search are shown click on “SE” in the header. This will sort your search results by number of
seeders currently supporting the download. More seeders means a faster download and presumably better quality.

3. Scroll down the page looking for the file you want to download. (If you want to download a movie look for “DVDrip” in
the name to get the best quality.) Click on the file name to open the torrent download page.

4. Right click on “Download This Torrent” and click on “Save Target As…” as shown below.

Done ! You have just downloaded a file containing the “address” and directions on how to get to the file you actually
want to download.
1. Locate the torrent file you saved to your desktop and double click to open.

2. The “Add New Torrent” dialog window will open. All files in the torrent will automatically be selected for download.
Click “OK” to start the download. (If you do not want to download all the files in a torrent you may click on the “Select
None” button to clear all selected items and then click to select only the items you want to download.)

3. The main BitTorrent program window will open to show the torrent download progress.

4. When the torrent is finished downloading, the BitTorrent program will automatically begin “Seeding” the file so other
people may download the file from you. You must stop the file seeding before you can access the file for your use.

5. Click the stop button (Red square) on the BitTorrent program menu bar to stop the seeding and change the status of
your download to “Finished”.

6. Click the remove button (Red X) on the BitTorrent program menu bar to remove the torrent from the BitTorrent
program screen. This will prevent the BitTorrent program from seeding this file the next time the program is opened.
7. Click “Yes” when this pops up after clicking on the remove button.
Done! You may now go to the folder containing your completed torrent downloads and enjoy your new download.
