The Butterfly
The butterfly is an insect of the order Lepidopteres, which
means “wings in scale”. The scales are coloured. They measure about 3mm to 30cm. They can fly up to 20 km/h. Most species are diurnal. They weight about 0,3g to 3g. The butterflies have got two pairs of membranous feathers. They’re pollinators of several species of plants. The cycles of the butterflies are: 1) Egg - pre-larval phase 2) Larvae 3) Pupa – develops in cocoon 4) Imago - adulthood
