1. Before starting the P.M. of Transformer / CT / PT /


CVT observe the following sequence when switching SHIFT IN CHARGE
on the plant:
Collection of work permit and lock out form TML
Check visually earthing of HT & LT points.
Ensure using safety PPEs and have tool box talk.
All connected breakers are off and physically isolated.
(Electrical and mechanical interlock)

2. CONDITIONS SHOULD BE MET:


Disconnector can be closed or opened only if the associated OPERATOR
circuit breaker is in “Off” condition.

Earth switch can be closed only if the disconnector is in the


“open” condition. Line Earth switch should be closed only
after ensuring that the said line is fully dead.

Earth switch can be opened only if the disconnector is in the


“open” condition.
Disconnector cannot be closed if the earth switch is already
in “closed” condition.

The fixed contact of the earth switch is generally mounted on


the moving connection arms of the disconnector. If one tries
to close the disconnector when the earth switch is on, it may
damage the earth switch fixed contact and earth switch arm.

3. CHECK AND RECORD FOLLOWING OPREATING


READINGS FROM OPERATOR
( a ) Volts
( b ) Amps

4. Start checking with PM check sheet. PS11-PWR-PM-01

5. Charging after PM:


Check visually earthing has been removed from HT & LT
points. SHIFT IN CHARGE
Removal of all interlocks (Electrical and mechanical interlock)
Return of work permit and lock out to TML.
Charging can be done.
