He is one of the famous sportsmen from Delhi. At present he is the world champion in Air Rifle
shooting. He is the first Indian who had made it to the individual Gold Medal since the 1990’s.
His superb achievements in the field of Olympic Games have made our country proud. He had
received the Arjuna Award when he was 17 years of age. Adding on to that he was the single
man to receive the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. This is one of the highest sporting honors.
He also had been felicited with the Padma Bhushan in the year 2009. This was post he won the
Gold Medal in the Beijing Olympics.

This is one of the names that remains embedded in the golden pages of history. Known for his
strategy and tactics, Kapil Dev has been an eminent Indian cricketer. It was under his guidance
that India won the World Cup in the year 1993. He also served as the national cricket coach for
India for a span of 10 days. Throughout his entire cricket career he tried to play his best and
give something valuable to the field of cricket. An extremely humble man and prolific cricketer,
Kapil Dev shall remain one of the cricket stalwarts in India.
Virender Sehwag
He was born in Delhi in the year 1978, October 20th. At present he is one of the leading
batsmen of the Indian team. He is affectionately termed as “Viru” by the teammates and also
the general public. He is an excellent right handed open batsman, and is also known for his
right-arm off spin bowling.
Sehwag played his first One Day International match in the year 1999. After that in the year
2001 he had joined the test cricket team. He earned several accolades as an ace cricket
player. It was in April 2009 he was honored as the Wisden Leading Cricketer globally, based on
