- Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is used to map IP addresses to MAC addresses on a network. It maintains an ARP table that correlates IP addresses and MAC addresses. - When a host wants to communicate with another host, it checks the target's MAC address in its local ARP table. If it's not found, the host broadcasts an ARP request to the network to obtain the MAC address. - The destination host replies with an ARP reply containing its MAC address to establish the address mapping in the ARP tables of other hosts on the network.

suatu protokol yang bertugas mengolah pengalamatan
logik dan fisik jaringan
 ARP mengolah sebuah tabel yang berisi Mapping
antara IP-address dan Ethernet Card.
 Tabel arp didapatkan dari request (broadcast) ke
jaringan.
 Berada pada layer 3 Jaringan
