TEST. A PERSON WITH AN IQ SCORE OF LOWER THAN 130 MAY BE ADMITTED TO GIFTED PROGRAMS WHEN OTHER
EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA STRONGLY INDICATE GIFTED ABILITY AND IS RECOMMENDED BY THE TEAM. OTHER

MATRIX POINTS MAY BE USED WHEN A STUDENT IS WITHIN 5 IQ POINTS OF THE STANDARD 130 IQ SCORE (LEVEL 2
SCREENING) THAT INDICATES GIFTEDNESS. THE STUDENT WILL BE DEEMED NOT ELIGIBLE IF IQ SCORE (LEVEL 2
SCREENING) IS NOT WITHIN 5 IQ POINTS OF THE STANDARD 130 IQ SCORE. THE 5 POINTS REPRESENTS THE
STANDARD ERROR OF MEASUREMENT FOR THE IQ ASSESSMENT.

CHECK ONE:
STUDENT MAY BE RECOMMENDED TO GIEP TEAM AS ELIGIBLE IF LEVEL 2 IQ SCORE IS 130 AND ABOVE OR IF IQ IS
125 OR GREATER AND MATRIX POINTS = 8 OR GREATER.

NOT WITHIN 5 IQ POINTS OF THE 130 STANDARD IQ AND DOES NOT MEET THE CRITERIA TO BE RECOMMENDED AS
ELIGIBLE.
