iNTRODUCTiON
This will guide you through the step-by-step process on how you can
successfully jailbreak the following devices:
• iPhone 4
• iPhone 3GS
• iPod touch 4th generation
• iPod touch 3rd genaration
• iPad

You will notice later on, that the jailbreaking tool used in this guide is
readily available from the internet but the processes are meticulously
collected and layed-out in this guide, to save you the hassle of
searching and messing up with the wrong tools. Plus, as a bonus, we
will show you how to install official apps from the AppStore for FREE.
Install any app you want without worrying how much it cost.

Technical skill is not needed. Basic reading ability is enough. Read the
whole guide before you execute the jailbreak/unlock. That way, you can
get yourself familiar with the things that you need to do and avoid
errors.

Almost every step in this guide comes with a screenshot giving you a
more vivid look of how things should go.

Once you’ve been successful with your first jailbreak/unlock, you can
do it to as many devices as you can. We will not restrict you from doing
so.

PART i
Requirements - What you’ll need
Please prepare the following:
• limera1n saved on your desktop.
Download limera1n for Windows here
Download limera1n for Mac here

• your activated iDevice with iOS version 4.1.

If you have iOS version older than 4.1, update your device first (using iTunes). Please read Part V
for this topic. NOTE to iPhone users: There is NO UNLOCK available for 05.14.02 / 02.10.04
baseband from iOS 4.1.

• USB cable

• a stable WiFi connection.

WARNING: DO NOT attempt to use this jailbreak on an iPhone

3G or iPod Touch 2G (old bootrom) or all other older devices!
You will find your device in rebooting over and over.

PART ii
How to jailbreak using limera1n
In addition to jailbreaking, limera1n also hactivates iPhones. So if your
iPhone is stuck to emergency call screen, this will finally get you out of
that!

Make sure you are connected to the WiFi signal then follow this:

1. Run limera1n

2. Click on make it ra1n and prepare to put your device to DFU mode

3. Press and hold both the POWER and HOME buttons

4. Release POWER button but keep holding down HOME button until you see
limera1n says exploiting...

5. Release HOME button and wait. Your device will turn OFF after that

6. Turn ON the device and you should see there, limera1n

Don’t worry if the icon is blank, it will still work. Also, if you don’t see limera1n app on your device after your
first try, you can repeat the process until you see it on the homescreen. This process is 100% safe.

7. Tap limera1n on your device
8. Tap Cydia then tap Install

9. Reboot device by turning it OFF then ON again

That’s how easy it is to jailbreak!

How to install Installous (APPTRCKR)
Installous is an app that is almost like the AppStore, only you don’t
need to pay for anything. Install any app you want for FREE.

Make sure you are connected to a WiFi

signal then follow this:

1. Open Cydia
2. Go to Manage and tap on Sources, at the
middle of the page

3. Tap Edit then tap Add.

4. Type this on the textbox: cydia.hackulo.us/ then tap Add Source

5. Source Warning will pop-up. Just tap Add Anyway.

6. Wait until the repo is successfully added then tap Done.

7. Tap the new repo Hackulo.us
8. Look for Installous and tap on it

9. Tap Install, then tap Confirm.

10. Wait until the installation finishes.

After installation, configure Installous to allow syncing of cracked apps
with iTunes. Do the following:

11. Open Installous and go to Settings.

12. Turn ON iTunes Sync.

I suggest you reboot both your computer and your device after the
configuration.

Now, you’ll never look at the price anymore, you just download!

How to update your device to the latest iOS
version 4.1
If you have an iPhone which is currently unlocked/jailbroken, DO NOT
UPDATE. Currently, there’s NO unlock available for baseband
05.14.02 / 02.10.04 that came with the 4.1 update.

WARNING: although limera1n hactivates the iPhone, it does

not unlock. DO NOT update if the unlock is important to you.
iPhone 4 users, read the Unlock and Update Guide.pdf to
learn how you can update the iOS but NOT the baseband.

Procedures:

1. C o n n e c t y o u r i D e v i c e t o y o u r
computer and open iTunes.

2. On the iTunes window, select your

iDevice under Devices in the Source
List on the left.

3. Your iDevice’s summary tab usually shows up, if not, click the
Summary tab found just below the iTunes bar.

4. Click Check for Update.

5. Click Download and Install. Do not disconnect your iPhone until the
update is done.
After updating, proceed to Part I - jailbreaking.

Please note that this guide is only updated to jailbreak up to iOS

version 4.1. If you see anything higher than that version during the
update process, please do not update yet.
