1．INTRODUCTION

CTOOLS is newly developed by UIO, specially designed for car owners or DIYs.
With a CTOOLS, you may quickly find out trouble causes of electronically
controlled systems on your car by reading the trouble code (DTC) shown on
CTOOLS, and checking out trouble causes with attached MANUAL.

Though so small, it is of the same function as special tool of its kind and
applicable to all Volkswagen/Audi models with a 16-pin diagnostic socket.

2．FUNCTIONS

Reading trouble codes: Read DTCs of ENG(H1), AT(H2), ABS(H3),

SRS(H4).
Clearing trouble codes: After the DTCs of a system being displayed for 3
times, the CTOOLS will clear the DTCs automatically.
System code: Automatically identify and display the code of the tested
system. Please see the table below:

3．OPERATION

When the “CHECK ENGINE” light is on, stop the car and apply the parking
brake, start the engine then plug the CTOOLSr to the 16-pin socket usually
located under the instrument panel in the car.
It will display [UIO] first, then display [H1] with twinkling. This mean the
CTOOLSr is reading DTCs of the engine system. If there are DTCs for
engine stored in the ECU, it will display them in turn; if there are no DTCs,
it will display [H1-- --]; if communication error occurs while reading DTCs,
it will display [H1--E]. Each display interval is about 1 second. After
finishing of reading DTCs for engine, it will automatically enter AT(H2),
ABS(H3) and SRS(H4) system, and read DTCs of these systems
respectively.
Trouble codes will be cleared automatically after trouble code display have

displayed for 3 times, or they will remain in ECU if CTOOLSr is put out
before displayed for 3 times.
