 ‫ـﺮ‬‫ ﺻ‬- Changing the ‫ﺭ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ـﺼـ‬‫( ﻣ‬source/name of the act done) into different ‫( ﺑـِـﻨﺎﺀ‬forms) to express different
meaning. In Sarf, we study two (2) areas:
1. Verbs
2. Nouns

‫ﺭ‬‫ـﺼـﺪ‬‫ ) ﻣﺼﺎﺩﺭ( ﻣ‬The source from which many form comes

• the name of the act that one does

‫ – )ﺃﺑﻨﻴﺔ ( ﺑﹺــﻨﺎﺀ‬form/s; what makes up a word which consists of the following:


• number of letters
• order of letters
• movements and silences
• original and extra letters
