CMG-5TD strong-motion digital accelerometer

The CMG-5TD is a fully digital triaxial force feedback accelerometer


with a large dynamic range, suitable for seismology, hazard mitigation
and civil engineering applications. It combines the well-
regarded CMG-5T strong motion instrument with an
integrated DM24 digitizer, to form a low-noise sensor
with direct RS232

Instrument options

Network options

The CMG-5TD can be supplied with optional


Ethernet and TCP/IP support, allowing you to
connect the instrument directly to your local area
network.

Operators can connect to the 5TD using a simple


Web page interface, which displays status and
configuration information from the instrument.

You can also download data from the on-board


Flash memory directly from the digitizer's Web
page.

Alternatively, a standard 5TD can output data to a


Güralp Systems Serial Server (SSU) or Data
Communications Module (DCM). The DCM is a
Linux-based network module with a range of
advanced capabilities. See the separate data
sheet for more information.

Adjustable mounting plate

This specially-designed mounting plate can be


used to fix CMG-5TD instruments firmly to the
ground.

An outer ring, fixed to the surface with a single


stainless steel bolt, is coupled to the instrument
through a second ring which screws into the
instrument in place of its adjustable feet.

The double-ring design also includes a ±5°


levelling device for fixing onto surfaces off the
horizontal.
