What Is Psychology

Psychology is the science of human behavior, the mind, and mental processes in humans and animals as they interact with each other and the environment. There are several perspectives in psychology including neuroscience which aims to understand how the brain relates to psychological processes, behavioral which studies observable behavior, psychodynamic which studies personality and behavior in terms of processes, cognitive which examines internal mental processes, and humanistic which reacted to behaviorism and psychoanalysis.

What is Psychology?

- Psychology is the science of  human behavior, the  mind, and  mental


processes in  humans and  animals as they interact with each other and the
environment.

Perspective in Psychology

Neuroscience

- aims to understand how the structure and function of the brain relate to specific
psychological processes

Behavioral

- the study of observable and quantifiable aspects of behavior and excludes subjective
phenomena, such as emotions or motives. 

Psychodynamic

- The study of personality and behavior in terms of such processes.

Cognitive

- examines internal mental processes such as problem solving, memory, and language.

Humanistic

- reaction to both behaviorism and psychoanalysis
