Questions to Ask an Employee When interviewing them for a job?
1. Where do you see yourselves in five years?
Good Answer: I would have like the person to answer in a professional manner stating her main goal, and how he or she will achieve these to get to where they would have liked to be in five years time. 2. This is our policy regarding smoking/dress code/alcohol and drug use while on the job. Are you willing and able to abide by this policy? Good Answer: The employee would have to agree with the jobs policy’s as if the person did not then that may not be the best place for them to be working. 3. Are you able to work shifts? Graveyard shifts? Weekends? Are you available for business travel? Good Answer: A good answer would have to contain the amount of shifts she is willing to work and how many hours and what time of day, and if the times did not suit the employee then the job may not be best suited for that particular person. 4. When we call your previous employer or references what are they likely to tell us in regards to your dependability/attendance? Good Answer: The Answer would have to contain positive feedback, and also be certain that her future jobs would have good recommendations of he/she. 5. In what kind of a work environment do you do your best work? Good answer: The best answer would contain he/she’s perspective on what is there preferred work environment is and if it was not similar to the one she was enrolling for the boss may feel she may not be suited for this particular job. 6. Give me an example of a time when you had set a goal for yourself and tell me how you went about accomplishing it. Good answer: Giving an example of a goal and how you succeeded and showing your determination 7. Tell me about a time when you were working hard to complete a task and you were asked to leave that task before completing it and start a different job. Good answer: giving and example of an appropriate time in a professional manner. 8. If your job progresses as you like, what would be the next step in your career? Good Answer: Giving a reason of your next step showing determination, and goal setting. 9. What are the major frustrations of this job? Good Answer :Give examples not being to fussy. 10. How many sick days have you taken in the past years? Good Answer: telling the right amount of days making sure there were not to many sick days.
