Cloud Computing

This document discusses cloud computing, defining it as a computing platform that dynamically provisions servers and other computing resources as needed. Cloud computing allows applications to be accessible over the Internet using large data centers and servers. The document outlines three types of cloud computing - public, private, and hybrid clouds - and references how large companies like Google, IBM, Amazon, and Microsoft utilize cloud computing techniques.

ABSTRACT
This paper describes cloud computing, a computing platform for the next generation of the Internet.
The paper defines clouds, explains the business benefits of cloud computing, and outlines cloud
architecture and its major components.

Cloud computing is a term used to describe both a platform and type of application. A cloud
computing platform dynamically provisions, configures, reconfigures, and deprovisions
servers as needed. Servers in the cloud can be physical machines or virtual machines.
Advanced clouds typically include other computing resources such as storage area networks
(SANs), network equipment, firewall and other security devices.

Cloud computing also describes applications that are extended to be accessible through the
Internet. These cloud applications use large data centres and powerful servers that host Web
applications and Web services. Anyone with a suitable Internet connection and a standard
browser can access a cloud application.

In this paper we will discuss briefly about mainly three types of cloud computing which are
public, hybrid and private cloud computing. Along with the three types we will also refer to
the cloud computing techniques used in multinational companies like GOOGLE, IBM
(International business machines), AMAZON and MICROSOFT.
