On behalf of the organizing committee of Scientific Foresight 2007, it is our pleasure to


invite you to the "Scientific Foresight 2007" symposium on 22nd-24th December 2007 at
Patna.
Started in 2005, Scientific Foresight is an effort to trigger the development of scientific
temperament among youth, particularly those who are in Bihar, and ignite their scientific
mind to bring about social, economic, and intellectual development through applications of
science and technology.
The event aims at:
• Bringing business and scientific community on a single platform for exchange of
ideas, knowledge, experience, and trends.
• Providing a learning platform for students to showcase their talent as well as develop
the right scientific temperament through interaction with larger scientific
community.
• Providing a platform for local scientific institutions to interact with their
counterparts from various parts of India as well as representatives from some foreign
universities as well for sharing ideas and best practices for improving the quality of
education and research.
Media Associates: The social and economical development of a society, particularly a socially and
economically backward though intellectually brilliant society like Bihar, is knowledge
driven. The development of scientific temperament among youth, knowledge base, and
infrastructure for research and development to cultivate and groom this temperament
become key differentiators.
It would indeed be an honour if you accept our humble invitation and share some of your
precious time with young students and academicians to ignite their mind. Your presence
would go a long way in bringing back the intellectual curiosity among youth to trigger social
and economic development.
We aspire to hear from you soon. Enclosed is a brief description of the event, its history,
people behind the endeavor, and some of the esteemed members of the scientific
community expected to participate in this year's event.
