Dengue virus awareness campaign

Symptoms

After being bitten by a mosquito carrying the virus, the incubation period ranges from three to 15
(usually five to eight) days before the signs and symptoms of dengue appear.

• High fever 104 F

• Headache

• Sever body and joint pain

• Low backache

• Itching

• Red spots

• Bleeding from nose and teeth

• Painful eye balls

• Redish eyes and face

• Swollen glands in neck and groin areas

Precautions and preventions

• Urge to empty stagnant water from old tires, trash cans, and flower pots

• Wear long pants and long sleeves.

• Use mosquito repellants

• Properly cover the pots containing water

• Dengue attacks at sun rise and sun set times.

• Use paracetamol only and not the disprin.
