The document discusses several input and storage devices used in computing including compact disks (CDs), handheld scanners, flatbed scanners, keyboards, and floppy disks. Compact disks store digital data read by lasers and come in varieties like CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW. Handheld scanners allow users to scan documents by hand and include components like light sources and sensors to convert images to digital signals. Flatbed scanners have a glass surface where documents are placed for scanning. Floppy disks are magnetic storage media encased in plastic that were commonly used for transferable data storage.

COMPACT DISK (CD)
A form of digital media on a plastic disc read by a laser in a CD drive. It comes in
several varieties including CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW. Compact Disk PROCESS OF HANDY SCANNER A handy scanner for scanning an image by user hand-held operation along the surface of a sheet of document is disclosed. The scanner includes an illumination light source for illuminating the image for scanning, an image pick-up mechanism receiving the light reflected from the image illuminated to be scanned, and converting the received light into an image electrical signal, a moving mechanism used for conducting movement of the scanner over the surface of the image, a position detector coupled to the moving mechanism for detecting the position of the apparatus over the image surface, an electronic circuitry coupled to the image pick-up mechanism and the position detector used for receiving the image electrical signal and the position electrical signal respectively and processing them, and a scanning path straightness-maintaining mechanism used for assisting to constrain scanning movement of the scanner in an intended straight line for achieving optimized scanning effect. User fatigue can therefore be reduced due to simplified effort for maintaining straight line scanning under the assistance of the straightness mechanism. HANDY SCANNER FLATBED SCANNER
In computing, an image scanner—often abbreviated to just scanner— is a device
that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a digital image. Common examples found in offices are variations of the desktop (or flatbed) scanner where the document is placed on a glass window for scanning. FLATBED SCANNER KEYBOARD FLOPPY DISK A floppy disk is a data storage medium that is composed of a disk of thin, flexible ("floppy")magnetic storage medium encased in a square or rectangular plastic shell.
