Web analysis software collects data on user behavior on websites, such as the number of unique visitors, how visitors found the site, what pages they view and links they click, and how long they spend on each page. This information benefits companies by helping them monitor visitors, optimize websites, and develop marketing plans. It also benefits consumers by helping websites design pages that suit user needs. While web analysis has costs, including software and outsourcing fees, a potential drawback is issues regarding user privacy and legal/ethical concerns surrounding data collection and usage.
