Activity: Children will learn about lambs

Developmental Goals:

Children will participate in group singing


Children will development listing skills
Children will use movement to express feeling and energy
Children will learn about animals

Learning Goals:

Children will learn what a lamb and a butterfly are.


Children will be able to recognize a lamb and a butterfly.

Materials Needed:

Music and words to “Mary had a Little Lamb”


The Lamb and the Butterfly

Procedure for setting up and facilitating the activity:

1.Motivation:
The children will around the room like lambs as we sing “Mary had a Little Lamb”

2. Middle:
Read The Lamb and the Butterfly
Talk about lambs and where the live
Talk about butterflies

3. Open-Ended Questions:
How would you change the end of the story?
How would you act if you were a lamb?

4. Closure:
We will go over everything they have learned about lamb and butterflies.

5. Transition:
• We will clean up while listen to Mary had a Little Lamb.

GUIDANCE AND/OR HEALTH CONCERNS:


There are no health concerns.

EVALUATION OF LEARNING OBJECTES AND FOLLOW UP:

This lesson was appropriate for the 4 years old and they enjoyed doing this activity.
