Customizing Your Blog Tab Icon

The document provides instructions for customizing the favicon or tab icon for a Blogger blog. It recommends using Photobucket to host a 20x20 or 40x40 pixel favicon image. The steps include uploading the image to Photobucket, then inserting HTML link tags pointing to the Photobucket URL between the <title> tags in the blog template HTML. This embeds the custom favicon, which will appear as the tab icon when viewing the blog.

Customizing your Blog: change the Blogger tab icon (favicon)

I have struggled a lot with this; changing the blogger tab icon to my own logo, I’ve googled extensively
for hours on stretch so I’m writing on it so I might be able to help those wishing to do the same. First of
all, there are few blogs I’ve gone through, to get it done, so it’d be right to mention those here.

A Step-wise procedure to customize your Blogger tab icon/.favicon

This is the Blogger Tab Icon/Favicon

1) The first thing you need is a Photobucket account so that you can upload your logo to the
account.
Sign up for a photobucket account: http://photobucket.com/
Design you logo, preferably in Photoshop or Ms. Paint, the image size should 20 X 20 pixels so
that your blog. Go for 40 X 40 pixel if you think 20 is too small for viewers.
The format of your image is usually JPG but I’d recommend PNG format. Once your logo is
designed and uploaded to the photobucket, you can move on to your blog.
Copy the above code and keep for later use

Note: uploading an image to Photobucket is simple, same procedure as you upload pictures to
your facebook account.

2) Now on your blog, sign in with your account. Go to Dashboard -> Edit HTML
Click on the above, inside the HTML text, go down to the <title> tag (see the below figure)

Now, in the above highlighted space, insert the below 2 html statements and Save Template.

<link href='insert your Photobucket URL here' rel='shortcut icon'/>

<link href='insert your Photobucket URL here' rel='icon'/>

Example:
This is from my Blog, I’ve used the link from Photobucket. The one we’ve saved earlier.

Once you have saved the Template, view your blog in the browser
