This document discusses a study on the perceptions of nursing faculty at Emilio Aguinaldo College on the migration of Filipino nurses abroad. It examines the socio-demographic profiles and perceptions of faculty when grouped by age and gender. The main reasons for nurse migration are economic factors and opportunities for higher pay abroad. While this benefits individual nurses, it could negatively impact the Philippines' healthcare system by resulting in shortages of providers.

 In the light of the findings and conclusions of this study,
the following recommendations are hereby suggested by

institutions; enact a bill to increase salaries of nurses,
medical and paramedical personnel in private
institutions; uplift the health care system especially
government hospitals and clinics and provide more
benefits such as free hospitalization to the dependents
and discounts on the medications and treatments of the
health care professionals.

Summary:
 For the reason that there’s a bigger opportunity
that awaits nurses abroad, it can be wrapped up
that the common denominator of Filipino nurses’
migration is “MONEY.” Economic factor plays
one of the major reasons why our country’s
health care professionals prefer to work
overseas. Most of the students taking up nursing
believe that the passing the degree will solve
their financial problem when in fact it is not as
easy to work abroad as many think.
Summary:
 The boom in nursing demand has produced loads of
nurses in the Philippines due to the fact that Filipino
nurses are favored by other countries. Migration of our
country’s health care professionals may possibly produce
an unfavorable outcome with regards in our country’s
health care delivery system. The probable consequence
of this matter can be summed up in a simple equation:
“brain drain” and migration of Filipino nurses will result
to shortage of health care providers in Philippine
hospitals and community that could increase the
morbidity and mortality rate of our country and will end
up to the breakdown of our country’s health care
delivery system.
