Open Chords

Open chords, also known as folk chords, are guitar chords that are played without barring fingers across multiple strings. They are among the first chords most guitar beginners learn as they are easy to form and allow new players to sound melodic quickly. Common open chords include G, C, D, and Em which only require pressing down individual strings at frets rather than barring multiple strings at once.
