1.0 Introduction
 Computer network is a system of interconnected computers and
peripheral devices.
 Computer communications is a process in which two or more
computers or devices transfer data, instructions, and information.
1.1 Importance of computer networks and communications.
 Sharing data and information
 Sharing of program/software
 Sharing hardware such as printer
 Computer network provide communication possibilities faster than

other facilities.
 Computer networks allow the user to access remote programs and
remoter databases either of the same organization or form other
enterprises or public sources.
 Facilitating communications- Using a network, people communicate

efficiently and easily via email. Instant messaging, chats rooms, cideo
telephones calls, video conferencing, Internet telephony, wireless
messaging services and groupware.

2.1 Definition of Mobile Computing
 Mobile computing is a generic term used to describe the ability

to use technology to wirelessly connect to and use centrally


located information and application software via small portable
and wireless computing and communication devices.
2.2 Specification, services, and frequencies of Mobile Computing

has the ability to connect to the
internet

also have audio capabilities,

referring to the Apple the Apple
