Nwico: New Word Information and Communication Order

NWICO was a proposal put forth in the 1970s that aimed to establish a New World Information and Communication Order. It sought to balance the unequal flow of information between developed and developing nations by strengthening infrastructure and promoting cooperation. However, it faced issues around freedom versus sovereignty and was seen by some in the West as a means of increasing government control over media. Efforts to establish organizations to help developing nations, like NANAP, struggled due to political and economic difficulties. Ultimately NWICO failed to gain widespread support and acceptance.
