Block Reduction Rules (Control Systems)

This document describes 6 rules for simplifying block diagrams: 1) cascaded blocks can be combined, 2) a summer can be moved behind a block, 3) a summer can be moved ahead of a block, 4) a pickoff can be moved ahead of a block, 5) a pickoff can be moved behind a block, and 6) a feedback loop can be eliminated by algebraically solving the loop.
