Angle of Rocket

The document describes an experiment to determine how the angle of a rocket's launch affects its distance. Data was collected from launching a rocket at angles of 35, 45, and 55 degrees. The rocket was launched 5 times at each angle using the same launcher, rocket design, and amount of water pressure. The results showed that the rocket traveled the farthest when launched at 55 degrees, averaging 87 meters. While the hypothesis was that 45 degrees would produce the greatest distance, the data did not support this.

Angle of Rocket

A. Does the angle of the rocket effect the distance?

B. If the angle of the rocket is 45º then the rocket will go further because then it will have
height and distance.
C. Data Table.

Distance depends on angle

D. Same launcher, same fins, same amount of water, same rocket, same launching
pressure
E. launcher, water, rocket cardboard, scissors, bottles,
F. Set angle of launcher to 35º, then launch 5 times and take data, repeat this for 45º and
55º.

H. The data does not support my hypothesis. It went farthest when it was at a 55 degree
angle. The other angels also went far but 55º went the farthest of the three angels. If I

were to change something I would take more time in building my rocket. I built my rocket
very fast and I cut my wings very sloppy. I had minimal time to work on my rocket. Also I
would change that no water came out of the bottom bottle when you would put it on the
launcher.
