About MES Teachers College


M E S Teachers College, CTE, Bangalore Rural
was established in 1958 by the Mysore Education
Society. It has successfully completed 58 years of
service in the field of Teacher Education and
produced over 8000 school teachers. The Ministry
of Human Resource Development, Government of
India, has upgraded the college as 'College of
Teacher Education' in the year 1998. MES
Teachers college, CTE, Bangalore Rural is making
concerted efforts to strengthen professionalism
among the stakeholders of the Secondary schools
of Bangalore Rural and Tumkur districts through
regular workshops and orientation programmes for
school teachers on a wide range of topics linked to
class room teaching. The National Council for
Teacher Education has accorded permanent
recognition to the institution from the academic
year 1996-1997 and the college has been
permanently affiliated to Bangalore University from
the year1998. The college campus is located at
Rajajinagar, Bangalore, which is 35 km from
Kempegowda International Airport and 3km from
Bangalore City Railway Station and City Bus
Stand.
About Council for Teacher Education (CTE):
Council for Teacher Education, a professional
organisation for teacher educators of the country
was established in 1985 under the leadership of Dr.
Gulab Chaurasia, the founder Principal of Regional
College of Education (RIE), Mysore, with the aim of
catering to the growth of teachers and teacher
educators and strengthening of teacher
preparation programmes in the country. Today
C.T.E has become an international body with 25
chapters and more than 10,000 life members.

About the Seminar:


When we move towards universalisation of education, it
should be taken care that all children are getting
education irrespective of their religion, caste, class,
language, strengths and weaknesses. Inclusive
education is the best option to make the educational
institutions diversity sensitive and provide quality and
equity education for all. For effective inclusion we must
prepare teachers who can teach in settings that are
inclusive, meeting the diverse needs of all students.
This requires an enormous change in the teacher
training programme, i.e., we require an absolutely
different model of teacher education. As this is one of the
most challenging, controversial and confusing issue in
education today, this conference being organised with
the following sub themes.

Sub Themes:
1. Challenges in inclusive teacher education.
2. Policies and legal frameworks in inclusive
education.

Participants:
The teacher educators, educational administrators, research
scholars, school teachers and other academic experts who
are interested in the conference theme can participate.
Call for Papers:
Thematic or research papers are invited from the participants
on sub themes of the conference. The papers will be published
with ISBN after the review of editorial committee.
The paper presenters shall send a hard and soft copy of the
paper with an abstract in about 300 words. The full paper
should not exceed 6 A 4 size pages.

The participants can fill the enclosed registration form and


send along with the registration fee in the form of demand
draft drawn in favour of Principal MES Teachers College,
Bangalore.
If there are multiple authors for a paper, all the authors have to
register separately for the conference. The registration fee
includes conference kit, certificate, working lunch and
refreshments. Delegates who are interested can get the
published book on an extra payment of Rs 200.
