Region V, also known as Bikol, comprises six provinces at the southeastern end of Luzon island and two island provinces. The people are called Bicolanos and speak various Bicol languages. The major provinces are Albay, known for Mayon Volcano; Camarines Norte, characterized by hills and fertile plains; Camarines Sur, home to the world's smallest fish and Mount Isarog; and Sorsogon, located at the tip of Bikol facing Samar.
