Hadoop and MongoDB Lab

If you had issues running Hadoop, use an older version of the Hadoop Sandbox downloaded from the provided URL. Assign it half your RAM before starting. For MongoDB, download MongoDB 2.6.12 and Robomongo 0.8.4 from the listed URLs to avoid bugs in newer versions.

Work around with running hadoop

If you had difficulty in running Hadoop lab, then you need to use the older version of the Hadoop
Sandbox. The older version can be downloaded from the below URL. After importing the sandbox into
Virtual Box, assign it half of your RAM before starting the sandbox, otherwise, the system will freeze soon
:).
In the case of MongoDB, Robomongo 0.8.5 had serious bugs as mentioned on their website (see below).
To have these labs working properly, you need to download the following versions.
1. HDP Sandbox 2.2: http://hortonworks.com/products/releases/hdp-2-2/#install
Kindly remove the subsequent versions
2. Mongodb 2.6.12: https://www.mongodb.org/downloads#previous
3. Robomongo 0.8.4: http://app.robomongo.org/download.html
Sincerely,
Shariyar
