When using a drill machine, workers must wear safety glasses and ensure any chuck keys are removed before operating. The stock being drilled must be securely clamped to prevent spinning or movement, and electrical cables should be checked before powering on. Drill bits used must be sharp, and the drill should be run at appropriate speeds for the job to avoid breaking bits or injuries.

Drill Machine Procedure:
When using the drill, safety glasses, goggles or full face shield must be worn. Prior to operation, be sure the chuck key is out of the chuck. Do not operate with loose clothing. Check electrical cables and connections to ensure insulation is good before switching on machine. When drilling, securely clamp the stock to prevent spinning or climbing the drill. If stock is not clamped securely, turn off the drill. In no case rely on your hands to secure the stock. Do not use dull bits. Run the drill at speeds appropriate to the work. Feeding a bit too fast can break the bit and cause injury.
