GRADE 11 EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN ICT


I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. recognize techniques to manipulate on existing images to change or enhance their
current state to communicate a message for a specific purpose.

II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Concept: Combining text, graphics, and images.
Sub-concept: Use image manipulation techniques on existing images to change or
enhance their current state to communicate a message for a specific purpose.

III.PROCEDURE
A. ACTIVITY
PIC-TE-PHIC ARRANGEMENT
Group Activity
Procedures:
1. Divide the class in 4 groups.
2. Let each group assign a leader and secretary, the secretary will write the name of
each member in a sheet of paper, and the leader will be the one to arrange the
jumbled images in the assigned desktop computer with the help of other members.
3. Three (3) minutes is allotted to arrange the picture to come up with a final output.
B. ANALYSIS
Ask the following questions to the students. Make it sure that maximum
participation will be solicited.
1. After forming all those jumbled images as one, what is the picture all about?
2. What is your insight regarding the picture?
3. Can we possibly combined text, graphics and images to convey a message?
How?
4. Is this helpful to you as a CSS NC II Holder later on if ever you are going to
put up your own computer caf or computer servicing caf later on? How?
C. ABSTRACTION
Using MS Publisher, laptop and multimedia projector, the teacher will discuss
steps and different techniques to manipulate on existing images to change or enhance
their current state to communicate a message for a specific purpose.

D. APPLICATION
Using MS Publisher and desktop computer and/or laptop, the students will create
their own calling card. After finishing the output, instruct them to save their output with
filename sampleOutput.jpg in Drive D.
E. ASSESSMENT
Using MS Publisher, the students will make their own calling card using their
scanned ID picture, showing their Name, Address, Contact#, Email Address and
Motto/Tagline.
