MUIDS held its first Science Fair competition on May 25th, 2016 at 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Ground Floor. This event gave students a chance to
show their knowledge and skills in Science by presenting their experiments to the judges and visitors. All students who joined the competition got

I thought that it went really well. We had about 150 students participating
with 47 projects which I think was a good number for our first Science Fair.
Hopefully, next year we can have more students to participate. All students
really amazed all teachers and sta at the projects that they did and how they
attempted to do their experiments. The presentation that they made is really
outstanding, said Ms. Tara Kenyon, the Head of Science Department. We
hope to improve the award for example we only have five awards this year and
next year we would like to have more and maybe divide the award up by grade
level. We may be allowed to do full-day next year instead of half-day because
half-day didnt give the judges enough time for each station and we also would
like to do it in the winter next year so it will not be hot, she added.

SocSci Department Organizes First International Day
by Mimi
The Social Sciences Department organized the first International Day
at MUIDS on 19 May 2016. Students from all grades participated in
the said activity. Each of the classes was to choose one of their
favourite countries from all over the world, and the chosen countries
highlighted the theme. In the morning, students in each class prepared
their delicious national meals to serve in their stations. In the
afternoon, the fashion show started with all class representatives
dressed their countrys traditional clothes and walked through a crowd
of people gathering along the aisle. As a result, the best winning
costume was awarded to Italy (1103), followed by Spain (1003), and the
third place was Native America (1005). Meanwhile, the first place for
food was Chile (1104), second place was Egypt (1008), and third was
India (1006).
