*Boko Haram: First Girl to be found from 276 Kidnapped Chibok
Girls
The news about Boko Haram and the Chibok
schoolgirls that had been abducted from a school in
Nigeria from April 14, 2014 resurfaced with hope for
parents of finding their daughters. The 19 year old
Amina Ali Nkeki was the very first of those girls to be
found on May 17, two years after they were
kidnapped. She was found with a four-month old
baby with a man wandering around in the suspected
terrorist group's stronghold, the Sambisa Forest,
searching for help. The man found was an assumed
Boko Haram fighter who is believed to be her husband by forced marriage.
Nkeki was taken to be reunited with her mother after she was found.
The empowering for the female youth and human rights campaign such as
the #BringBackOurGirls from 2014 has more faith now in bringing back
and finding the rest of the 200 plus kidnapped Chibok girls. Nkeki was
brought to the president and was also given the treatment she needs after
the traumatic turn of events. She is said to be able to go back to school
again.
There are solutions that have been used to free the girls but in the end the
terrorists had already planned what is to come for the girls. They were
separated and taken to different places and treated poorly and unfairly. This
story shows how the rights of the girls are violated and keeps the other
countries aware of these events. Showing that after two years there is
progress in finding the whereabouts of some of the girls gives hope and faith
for their loved ones and shows that the president is not ignoring or giving up
on this case.
This article has given me a lot of updates on what have been done on the
problem and the different actions that were done to solve it. I saw this article
in Yahoo when I was looking at the news. This interests me because of the
research I have done on the topic during the extra-curricular activities that I
joined at school (Mock UN). This keeps me aware of the happenings around
the world and how this type of situation can be prevented in the future
informing people about these terrorist groups such as Boko Haram.

Some people choose to live a different lifestyle because of their own belief.
They do not want others to interfere or command how to live in a way that
the others think they should because everyone has the freedom of
expression. Some people would rather spend their time on the sofa or plan
an outing for an instance rather than exercise.

I believe that everyone has a different lifestyle and it is necessary as long as

they watch out for their health. Exercising is helpful in several ways; keeping
us healthy and fit. There is nothing wrong with lazing around but discipline is
also important. Therefore, the people should be open for suggestions and try
something new once in a while.

The Point of View of a Runaway Astronaut
On this very starry night I am on my way to a construction site where my
crew and I are digging up the moon grounds to see possible signs of life
forms underground. Im feeling kind of overwhelmed since it has been almost
2 earth weeks and a day on the moon is approximately 27.3 days on earth.
Imagine how long that is farther away from my family. Tonight I am heading
to the site to help with the digging and its been quite incredible discovering
different things about this place and the differences it has from Earth.
As a brief introduction, my name is Luke Comillon and I am from Ohio which
explains the USA flag on my space suit. I am happily married to my beautiful
wife, Athena, and we have a seven year-old son named Tyler. Knowing they
are safe and in the hands of my parents is enough to keep me sane and have
faith and motivation to continue what I have started.
How I ended up in another planet without the consent or the knowledge of
my wife is a really long story. I understand that relationships are based on
trust and without honesty and trust quarrels will start inside the house but I
was called for this mission. It has been my dream since I was young to be
able to explore space and fly to the moon which is why I trained to be an
astronaut. I saw this as an opportunity to fulfill my dream and if its possible,
next time I will be able to share this experience with them.

Topic: Does your star sign affect your character?
Star signs are given different symbols, meanings and the people are given
their star sign for the months they were born. Star signs give the meaning of
the character of a person through horoscopes which hold predictions for a
possible personality and relationships a person may have depending on their
signs. They have given people inspiration by making them feel different
emotions such as boosting their confidence or giving them hope for destiny,
fate and infinity but it also destroys expectations. Living by these star sign
rules can prevent a person from exploring their own identity and finding their
own character which makes a person unique and different.
When a person lives by their star sign, they tend be dependent and they rely
on what is written online daily about their expected characteristics
(horoscopes). Sometimes there are predictions that will not satisfy the people
which might cause the sudden mood swings or change in behavior of a
person. This change of attitude or behavior can hurt the feelings of other
people surrounding them.
Consequently, star signs can give people a sense of direction, different
experiences and different emotions such as being loved. However, the
people who choose to live by these star signs will not learn to face and
create their own future. They will not be able to let themselves make their
own decisions but they will be able to learn from their mistakes and grow
wiser making them open for new opportunities.

When I was a young girl of age between five to six, I had dreamt of one
dream for several nights. I had tit on nights when I slept for more than eight
hours or when I went to sleep with a certain mood such as being mad, sad or
happy.
This is how it went. On a very bright day, I saw my uncle leaving our house
which looked different from how it looked when I was young, but the funny
thing is how our house looked or transformed throughout the years is how it
looked like in the dream. The sky was as blue as a clear sea and the breeze
of the wind was blowing in my face. It was calm and it made me feel like I
was young again. The grass was swaying in sync with the insects that are
crawling on the earth grounds.
I called to my uncle, UYEY! His name is Regalado or Rey for short, and tito
stands for uncle. As a young kid, I was still unable to properly pronounce
words. He turned around and asked me what I was doing outside and I told
him how I saw him leaving and I wanted to come with him. He called me to
come to him and he escorted me home to ask for permission to take me with
him. We walked out of the house and headed to our destination.
I remembered this moment as my memory and it gave me a familiar warm
feeling of how close I was with my uncle and how much he loved taking care
of me when I was small before he passed away. The question is Why are
these memories playing as my dreams?

300 Word Essay:

This essay is included in the portfolio because this paper
provides information that is facts from reliable sources. It
shows my opinions and how I reason it with some facts from
the resources.
Theft is the action of stealing and is a crime which is caused by many
reasons but corruption in the Philippines is a major one because it causes
poverty and poor education. Corruption increases poverty by reducing the
amount of money for citizens and their opportunity to have jobs. However, a
poorly educated person lacks the qualities required for a job. When these
people cannot find a stable job, they feel as though that they are not
protected by the laws, therefore they feel the need to make a living by
rebelling against these laws.
In the Philippines, corruption is common inside the political industry.
Politicians are responsible for supporting people who do not have the
privilege to a good life, but because of greediness, educated politicians are
put in a place where they lose self-control and commit crimes such as
corruption (fraud) or bribery. This type of person wants fame, power or
money to have a better life so they will steal from the funds of projects
beneficial to the citizens and the development of the country itself.
Living in poverty and having weak morals causes the children of the
generation to be unable to get the education they need, which leads to them
being unqualified for a specific job due to their lack of experience and good
reputation. They are not aware of the appropriate etiquette. They are not
able to support their needs if they cannot find a job. These jobs are
supposed to be made using the funds from the president and when the
government cannot provide this, the citizens feel as though they have no
other option but use stealing to make an earning. Poverty will decrease and
their children will be given the access to education. This will give them a
stronger moral sense and opportunity to explore not only experiences of jobs
in the country but also in other parts of the world.

Anne Juliene C. Zaragozas Semester 2 Portfolio

Some of these people will look for opportunities in other countries, whereas
others will turn against the law because crime is an easier choice for living
and they can earn more with these method but they will face consequences.
