1. A restaurant charges $9.95 for a large pizza with two toppings, and $1.25 for each additional topping.

toppings and with five toppings.
2. Your baseball team is raising money by selling baseball caps and T-shirts. The price of a baseball cap is
$8 and the price of a T-shirt is $12. Write an algebraic model for the total amount raised A if you sold c
caps and s shirts. If your team sold 132 baseball caps and raised $4500, how many T-shirts did your team
sell?
3. Ads in your schools yearbook sell for $150 per half page and $250 per full page. Write an equation with
more than one variable to represent the total revenue from the sale of the ads. How much would the
revenue be if you sold 6 half page ads and 2 full page ads?
4. When you got your car fixed, the cost for parts was $75. The cost for labor was $45 per hour. Write
an algebraic model to represent your total bill B if they worked on it for h hours. If your car repair bill was
$210, how many hours did the repair work take?
5. You took a standardized test on which all of the questions had to be answered. Your received 2 points
for each correct answer but lost point for each incorrect answer. Write an algebraic model to represent
your score S if you earned x questions right and y questions wrong. If your score on the test was 132
points and you answered 68 questions correctly, how many incorrect answers did you have?
6. You are working on a project in woodshop. You have a wooden rod that is 72 inches long. You need to
cut the rod so that one piece is 6 inches longer than the other piece. Write an algebraic model to find out
how long each piece should be. Then, find the length of each piece.
