A STUDY ON WORK LIFE BALANCE OF WOMEN EMPLOYEES WORKING

IN EMPLOYEES PROVIDENT FUND ORGANISATION


Research in the work-life field has shown that work-life initiatives positively affect
employees integration attempts and overall well-being, when other variables, beyond structural
support, are considered. Culture has been identified as a key factor for employees work-life
integration. In every workplace, the metrics of quality and performance are usually developed
according to the potential of each individual or team, which are ultimately translated as their
association, dedication or passion for the work or the incorporating workplace. However, this
might not be the case at all when the way each individual performs his or her activities depends
primarily on how he or she creates a balance between the household and workplace, while also
facilitating the factor of quality within both premises and domains. It aimed to provide quality of
life for an employee at the same time retaining the productivity levels of an employee at the
work place. It is believed that balancing a successful career with a personal or family life can be
challenging and impact on a persons satisfaction in their work and personal lifes roles.
The Employees Provident Fund came into existence with the promulgation of the
employees Provident Funds Ordinance on the 15 th November, 1951.It was replaced by the
Employees Provident Fund Act, 1952.Employee Provident Fund is a very important tool of
retirement planning. The tax free interest (compounding) and the maturity ensures a good growth
of your money. If continued for a very long term, it can help immensely in meeting ones
retirement goal. But while fulfilling other goals or during emergencies, we fall short of funds
even after taking all recourse and do force borrowing. The employees in EPFO are under the
purview of central government and enjoy its privileges. The employees in the organization have
a tedious work of clearing the PF claims, maintaining accounts for private companies which
come under the jurisdiction of the office and clearing PF pensions. This research attempts to find
how the women employee brings about the balance between the work and personal life.
