Introduction
1.Global Positioning System, is a satellite-based navigation
system made up of a network of satellites placed into
orbit by the U.S
2.A GPS can help us to determine exactly where we are at
any given moment
3.GPS-based Location Tracking System via Android
Device uses GPS and smart phones having an Android
operating system to track the location of a person
whenever necessary

Objective
The objective of the project Mobile-phone Tracking are
mentioned as under:

Mobile phone Tracking:- It gives you the ability to click a button


and to know the exact location of the cell phone in real time.

SOS Message:- This SOS Message feature is a special feature of


this app. This is a security measure by pressing a special key or
combination of keys user will allow sending a SOS Message to a
predefined list of individuals. The message will contain the current
location.

Motivation
The main motivation of this project are

Explore the concepts of mobile application development


in android.

To learn and experience developing a gps based


application in android targeting a small set of users.

Obtaining knowledge to develop any similar kind of


application focusing large group of users

Proposed Methodology
Waterfall model is a sequential design process, often used in software
development processes, in which progress is seen as flowing steadily
downwards (like a waterfall) through the phases of Conception, Initiation,
Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Production/Implementation and
Maintenance.
