CH0 Introduction Microprocessors

This document provides information about the ENT288 microprocessor course offered at Universiti Malaysia Perlis. The 3-unit core course aims to study microprocessor architecture and design microprocessor-based systems. Students will learn assembly language programming, interfacing, arithmetic operations, timers, interrupts, and data conversion. They must design simple applications using a PIC 18 microcontroller. The course involves 33 hours of lectures, 10 hours of lab work, 4 hours of tutorials, and a 6-hour mini project. Textbooks and references are provided. Students must attend over 80% of classes or risk being barred from the course.

architecture and relate that knowledge to the design of

microprocessor based systems.

This

includes evaluation of a simple application on a

microprocessor-based system.

This also includes the knowledge of assembly language

programming, I/O interfacing, arithmetic operations, data

transfer, timers, serial port programming, interrupts, LCD and
keyboard interfacing and data converters.

The students must able to design and develop simple real-

world applications based on PIC 18 microcontroller system.
