Getting Started: Create an Account


1.Firstthingyou'llneedtodoiscreatea
ZipGradeaccount.Youcancreatean
accountonyourphone(throughthe
ZipGradeapp)oryourdesktopcomputer.
2.Youcancreateafreeaccounttoscan
upto100testsor
3.Createapaidaccount($1.99for2
monthunlimitedtestscans,or$6.99for

computer,makesureyoualsodownload

Getting Started: Set Up Your Classes


1.Tosetupyouraccount,youshouldfirst
createclasses.
2.Tocreatetheclasses,goto"Classes"tab
onthetopnavigationbar.

3.Click"AddNewClass"tocreateclasses.

4.Createaclassnamethatidentifiesone
classperiodfromanother(e.g.SmithCore1,
SmithCore2,etc.).

5.Savetheclassandcreateanother.

1.Toquicklyandeasilyimportyourstudents
intoZipGrade,youwillwanttocreateaCSV
(excelformat)roster

2.Tobegin,opentheGradeBookon
yourcomputer.

3.WithinGradeBookopen"Reports"

4.Selectthe"StudentRoster"reportforyour
firstclassperiod.
5.Adjustthesettingswithinthereport:
OutputType:Export(CSV)
Sections:Selectedclass
Students:Allenrolled
StudentInfo:Students'name,Students'number
ParentInfo:None
Sort:Students'lastname

GradeBookreport,youcanrunthereport.
7.Thereportwillopeninanexceldocument.
Youwillneedtoeditandadjustthedocumentto
createaCSVformZipGradecanread.
8.CreateanewcolumntotheleftofthestudentID
column.
9.Deletetheexistingheadingsonthedocument
andcreatethefollowingheadings...

10.Studentsshouldbesortedbytheirlastname.
Removestudents'firstnamesfromthefirstcolumn
andentertheminthe"FirstNameColumn".
11.ThestudentIDnumbersappearinthe"Zip
GradeID"column.Alsocopy&pastethese
numbersintothe"ExternalID"column.
12.Inthe"ClassName"column,eachstudent
shouldbemarkedwiththeZipGradeclassname
forthatperiod(e.g.SmithCore1,SmithCore2,
etc.).

13.Makesureyousavethefinaldocumenton
yourcomputerasaCSVdocument.

3.TobeginusingZipGradeyoucanprintout
prepopulatedscantronsheetsforeachclass
withstudents'namesandIDnumbersalready
filledin.Todothis,downloadthe100question
answersheetfromthe"Classes"tab.
4.Toprintblankanswersheets,gotothe
"answersheets"tabonthetopnavigationbar
andprintthe100questionPDF(Note:you
mustprintthe100questionversionforthe
scannertorecognizestudents'6digitID
code.Youcancreateasfewquestionsasyou
wouldlikeonthe100questionsheet.)

wayyounormallywould.
2.Next,youmustcreateaZipGradeanswer

eachscantronusingtheZipGradeappon
yoursmartphone.
2.Toscantheresponseforms,openthe
applicationonyoursmartphoneandopento
"Quizzes"fromtheburgermenu.
3.Selectthequizyougave
asanassessment.
4.Choose"scanpapers"from
thequizmenu.

5.Allowtheapplicationtoaccessyour
camera.Then,holdyourphonecamera
aboveoneresponseformatatime,making
suretheapplicationcanseeallfourcorners
ofthedocumenttoproperlyscanthe
responses.
Agreensquareineach
cornershowthatyouare
properlyscanningtheentire
form.
Individualdatawillshow
immediatelyforeachstudent.
